Songa Equinox is the first of four sister rigs being built for Songa Offshore at the Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME) yard in South Korea, with all four rigs chartered by Statoil for eight-year plus options contracts offshore Norway. Songa Equinox’s mobilisation from South Korea was assisted by long-distance anchor-handling tug ALP Centre (pictured c/o ALP Maritime Services). The second rig in the series, Songa Endurance, is currently en route to Norway, being ably assisted by Maersk Supply Service anchor handlers Maersk Server and Maersk Supplier. Seabrokers was proud to have been involved in the chartering process for the mobilisation of both Songa rigs from South Korea to Norway.
