Basic conditions
The jet piles were established in overconsolidated sand/gravel masses with
strong elements of stone and blocks.
Solution
The land vessels for the bridges were solved using the jet injection method
where a by casting 3 rows of piles with a total of 188 jet piles formed
an intrinsically stable massive construction. On the pile construction it was
cast a load and stress-distributing beam in reinforced concrete. It
the massive construction of jet-injected material forms together
with the tension-distributing concrete beam
the land vessel construction.
The superstructure consists of 3 separate trough bridges. The bridges have been built
of prestressed concrete and is laid on the land vessel construction
with the help of bridge bearing between land tank and superstructure.
The superstructure has a span
of 27 m and a total length of 34 m.
1,300 m3 of concrete and 180 tonnes of reinforcement were used.
The work was carried out with extended control.
The Eidanger project was an R&D project where the parties were the State
Road Administration Telemark, the Ministry of Trade and Industry / the Industrial Fund and
Consulting engineers L. Ø. Hoksrud AS.
