Design

A G/S road is to be constructed in a culvert under the existing motorway. To dimension this, sheet piling is needed on both sides with up to 2 staggered rows. As the area is only about 6 m.a.s.l., it is also important to take measures to prevent
groundwater intrusion. This is partly solved with a jet pile wall and partly with pipe piles

Execution

Waterproof sheet pile walls were established in 2 different ways. On one side, 220 Ø219 x 10mm pipes with locks were drilled down into the rock. On the other side, AZ sheet piles were rammed down and finished in loose masses.
On this side, jet piles were also established to seal the soil between the piling and the rock. At the same time, the jet piles stiffen the lower part of the pile. Apart from this, a waterproofing wall of jet piles Ø2000mm with c/c = 1.5m was also established. The pile wall totaled approx. 1600 lm with an average depth of 10m. Everything was carried out with a bifluid system where water and air were used during pre-erosion, while slurry and air were used during injection
