Execution
6 meter lengths are drilled with steel core piles of the same size
219.1x5mm and 273x6.0mm. Steel cores are placed respectively
ø150mm and ø180mm in these casings.
RD poles of 6 meter lengths with threads and sleeves for splicing are off
the dimensions RD170/10 and RD220/12.5mm.
The RD pipes are filled with concrete before the pile caps are installed.
There has been a requirement for Ex3 for welding RD piles on this project,
which we have carried out with our own welders.
Inspection of welds on RD pipes is done with both ultrasound and
magnetic powder.

The drilling system used here is the Robit Prime Drill thrue, as it has
been under-drilled for rock footing on the steel cores. The advantage of this
the system is that you can easily disengage from the ring shoe to drill
further down into the mountains without having to change to the mountain crown.
